The last few days, high gusts of wind have swept through the valley. Although a few trees have fallen, the birds and bugs have already moved into their new homes. Fallen trees that provide habitats are also known as "snags". According to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, dead trees can provide more shelter to local wildlife than trees that are alive.
